Discovering the Beach

So Caspersen Beach ...

In Venice FL...

What an absolutely Beautiful place!!!!

and what an amazing place to just DISCOVER...

Rocks to Climb ...

Shark Teeth...

Fossils....

Shells...

Nature trails ....

SO we went on a Thursday and the kiddos decided they wanted to sleep at grandmas...

The flexibility for how we do life is my favorite ...

The fact that on a Thursday ...

Last minute...

I can say YES....

Not NO it's a school night ....

No it's too late and you have to wake up early...

and I WILL take full advantage of what we can on this journey ...

Family time over everything...

SO at grandmas the kiddos practiced writing...

Learned about shells ...

Did a shell craft ...

and went to the beach AGAIN to make more discoveries...

I really enjoy them being able to hear family stories and have other influences that are more controlled...

So Thursday Venice... Friday school at Grandmas.... Saturday Back to our classroom...

We classified Shark teeth...

Counted them...

and finished up our Science Experiment...

Eva Predicted we would find 51 shark teeth ...

we found 54!!!!

She totally nailed it ...

I had them draw pictures of what they thought they would see before our trip (Eva drew a shell and Bubba a Dinosaur lol)

and than they drew pictures post trip....

Evs drew a beach with a sunset ....

We checked on our beans that have sprouted...

This was day 6 and I will post the full experiment soon!

But basically you get a bag or container...

moisten a paper towel...

Seal it up ...

stick it in a window with lots of light ...

and these bad boys sprout and grow within days...

Such a neat thing to watch and have them check on daily ...

and to show them how things grow...

So many wonderful talking points ...

and I guess we wont be needing a separate post to tell you how to do it LOL

We read the E Book and started getting our project ready for today that I will be posting later...

It's going to be SO DANG CUTE!

Yesterday had tons of dance party interruptions but I wouldn't have it any other way ...

Just another example of why this works for US <3
