My Nightly Prep...

This is easily becoming one of my favorite parts of my day ....

Prepping for school ....

I'm huge on not saying "we HAVE TO do this"...

We've replaced it with "we GET TO...."

I also am sure that I'm not all "it's 10am it's time to get started ..... Or it's school time!"....

I WANT IT TO BE THEIR CHOICE TO BE THERE....

ESPECIALLY in the early stages ...

I set up activities to draw them in ....

I try to think about what it would be like to wake up as a child ....

What would be fun ....

Interesting....

How can I set things up that makes them want to explore and dive in ...

About this time (10) ....

I'll open our classroom door ....

Sometimes they wander in then ....

Whoever goes first normally calls to the other sibling ...

If that doesn't work I start our days of the week and months of the year songs and that ALWAYS works ....

I turn it up ...

Start singing ....

Have fun ....

And they appear ❤️

It allows me a creative outlet ....

I'm truly EXCITED for them to see it the next day ...

And we ALL win ....

I think this could be a useful concept with most things we want them to do in a positive and fun way ....
